Hi, Luceti. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Jane Foster. For several months, I've been working with Tony Stark on a project. A project to get all of us home.

For most of that time the project was kept pretty much secret. Even then, it wasn't entirely safe. We suspect the Malnosso know what we're up to and aren't too happy with us. That's exactly why we want to bring it to the rest of you and step it up: so we can finish this faster than they expect us to and get out of here before they can try to stop us.

The basics are actually pretty straightforward: we're building a device that can open a wormhole, get us through the barrier, and back to our respective worlds and universes. Don't ask about the technicalities unless you're really sure you want them. It's complex stuff.

What we need from all of you is missions. We're close to completion, but there are still a lot of parts we need to complete the device. The only way to get those parts is to buy them with mission points. You guys go out on missions, earn points, buy the parts we specify, and bring those parts to us. Pretty simple, right?

We're not saying you have to participate. But we wanted to open up the project to anyone else in the village who might care to help.

Like I said, it could be dangerous. Helping us probably isn't without consequences. If that's a risk you're willing to take, you can come talk to me or Tony and we'll give you more specifics.

So uh ... any questions, I guess? Fire away. We're both here.

[Sora's not sure how to respond to that. Xion's made a home here, and while he's happy she's being her own person...

He himself can't stay. His heart is telling him he needs to do what he has to back home. But, that's not the point.]

We'll beat them back! There's no way I'll let the Malnosso do what they want.

You're seriously gonna try this, Sora?

[Sorry, bud, but he's a little too skeptical.]

[Sora grips at his heart, unsure of how to answer.

Riku's his friend. While he wants to believe this portal is going to work his friends skepticism isn't helping. Where was that door to the light when he needed it most?]

We have to try something.

...I can't, Sora.

[He sighs.]

I just can't leave everything behind. If you want to go, I definitely won't stop you, but there's no telling if it'll work. For all we know, the portal could collapse, leaving use wide open to Third Party attack.

[It's not surprising. Sora always had the feeling Riku would stay if they really had a choice.]

It's just...I need to help all those people tied to me, Riku. While they may be okay here...back home they aren't.

But, I won't leave until I know for sure the Malnosso or the third party isn't going to hurt anyone.

I know. And to tell you the truth, it's probably irresponsible for me to stay behind. I'm a Keyblade Master. By all means, I should be out there helping the worlds.

It's just... I've spent years here. Before I even got to see the outside world, I wound up here. Even if it's selfish, I can't let go of everything I've experienced here.

[Sigh.]

Though if things do backfire, you can bet I'll fight to make sure the Third Party or anyone else don't level the place.

Are you afraid you're going to forget?

[That's what Sora's taking out of this. It's true...if he left, he could forget everything. He hadn't gotten anything back yet while he was here but losing these new memories would be sad.

But, if he escaped on his own maybe they wouldn't leave him.]

More than that, I don't want to leave Ino. She's too important to me.

[And, let's face it, his romantic prospects aren't looking so good back home.]

[Sora doesn't really know what to say to that for a moment. He remains quiet, before he speaks.]

She's your light, isn't she?

...Yeah, she is.

[And so much more.]

She pulled me out of a rough spot I'd been stuck in for a year. Helped me get back on my feet. I really owe a lot to her.

[At least someone had been there for Riku when he couldn't. There's a smile on his face as he does. He knows Riku won't lose sight of that. You never lose sight of your light.]

I understand.

... we? Sora ... aren't you going to go home?

[He hesitates a bit. After all the times he's come and gone and left Xion sad, it kind of hurts. But, he has to be honest on this. So he nods.]

I mean, yeah, I'll be going home if I can. But if the Malnosso are going to start attacking everyone I can't just leave. That wouldn't be right.

... [ That wins a smile, soft and sad. ] Sora ... I know how much you care about us. But if you get the chance... you have to go. Everyone needs you.

Xion...

[He can't help but look just as sad back.]

I know. I need to save you, Roxas, and everyone else from all of that pain. But, I wouldn't be doing that either if I left you guys here to hurt more under the Malnosso. Besides, when we do beat them and we can go back home I can still do that without having to worry what's going to happen to you guys.

Sora...

[ She lapses into silence as she thinks. When she realizes it's stretched on too long, she finally speaks up again, subdued but very fond. ]

You're the bravest boy I've ever met. You mean so much to me... to so many of us. Without you, there is no us. That's why it has to be you. [ Her smile is infinitely sad. ] You have to be the one, Sora. You have to go. We'll be okay here. I promise. But you can't stay to take care of us. Not when we need you back home, too.

Xion...

[She's right. She's definitely right. He can't do both as much as he wants to. If he ever wants to ensure them to have any kind of happiness, he needed to save them in his world first.

So, he nods just a bit.]

Okay...then lets make a promise!

[ Somewhat surprised. ]

A promise?

Yeah, a promise. A promise that even if I leave I'll come back here again.

Sora... [ She's very touched. But also a little uncertain. ]

... only if it's part of the promise that you're sure it's okay for you to come back.

Of course it is. Promise.

... okay. [ That wins a small smile. ] Then it's a promise.

Good, I'm glad.

[Small isn't his thing. She'll just get a big goofy grin.]
