I would like to know too just what that thing does. Perhaps it's the reason everyone becomes powerless in the tunnels. Then again, it could be the thing that controls the oxygen within the barrier for all we know.

I agree it's a risk, but not something I think we should ignore either. I doubt though that you have a very good way of figuring out what makes it tick without first shutting it off.
