[Locked Transmission to Residents]
[A written post comes in around the afternoon of Friday, February 10th.]
This is Ginia Solana once more. I want to thank everyone who attended the meeting on Monday, we had quite the turn out with around 60 people present. There were many good ideas and suggestions brought up, and I hope we can continue to discuss these ideas and put them into action.
For those who were unable to attend, the following is a summary of the topics discussed at the meeting as well as some of the main points. If you would like a physical copy, there are five that can be found at the Welcome Center by the calendar. Please make sure there's always a copy left.
1. An emergency response team for the village
-Function: A way for people to get quickly organized in a time of crisis.
Plan: Divide the village into six different sections.
-Each sector will have a team assigned to it. This team will help in evacuations, get out warnings, guard and defend any non-combatants and/or injured people.
-Each section will have a building designated as a meeting place/safehouse that will be stocked with supplies (first aid, non-perishable food, emergency supplies).
Here is a proposed map of how the sections could be divided. Buildings with a blue X are possibilities for safe houses.
-The school was proposed for yellow, the clinic for pink, and green can be divided between the rec center and the clinic.
The teams:
-Ideally each group would have 5-8 people in each one, can be altered depending on the area they cover.
--There should be backups or a regular rotation in the event of kidnappings, people being sent home, injuries, or other circumstances.
-The primary focus of each team is getting non-combatants and the injured to safety and guarding them; NOT engaging the enemy.
-Each team would have people with a variety of skills (combat, medical, magical, etc.)
--Nara Shikamaru has offered to work in the green sector.
--Other volunteers include Inspector Zenigata and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
2. An alarm system independent from the journal
-An alarm system that can be seen and heard across the village was proposed.
-One possibility is some sort of bell.
-Also proposed was a magical barrier that would make a sound whenever someone crossed the threshold.
--Could be useful in locating New Feathers that arrive outside of the village.
3. Applied Shifts to key buildings
-Using points from the missions offered by the Malnosso to apply Applied Shifts to the Barracks and Rec Center.
--This would allow the buildings to be automatically repaired of all damage within 24 hours like the other buildings in the village.
---Archie Kennedy has volunteered to gather points toward the Rec Center.
---Derek Bliss has volunteered to gather points toward the Barracks.
4. A request for crew and supplies for the Britannia
-Captain Hornblower and Archie Kennedy are seeking more crew members for the Britannia. If you are interested, contact either of them for more information.
--There is a training simulation in the Battle Dome (programmed by Selphie Tilmitt) if anyone would like to experience being on a ship. Archie Kennedy and Bellemere are also willing to provide training directly on the Britannia.
---A request for gunpowder has been fulfilled by Sokka.
5. Watches
-Establishing watchtowers along the beach, mountains, and areas around the village, and keeping the towers manned 24/7.
--Using magic to conceal the towers was a proposed possibility.
--Utilizing the existing watch stations is a possibility, though the current locations aren't ideal.
---Building one in the southwest is a possibility, but the distance makes it difficult to man. Perhaps people with teleportation abilities or able to travel great distances in a short amount of time can help?
6. Underwater Exploration
-The SOS Brigade is requesting a submarine, or alternative means of breathing underwater in order to explore the ruins now located underwater (and anything else that may be down there).
--Interested parties should contact Haruhi Suzumiya.
7. Emergency Response Team designed for Combat
-A team designed for the purpose of offense and and taking any fights away from the village center.
8. Starfish Festival
-A festival celebrating the cute starfish, but also a day for everyone to have fun, enjoy themselves, and relax.
--Anyone who wishes to assist in putting together the festival should speak to Ibuki Fuuko.
9. Notes from the SOS Brigade
-A: "Don't forget that the SOS-Brigade is open for consultation about any mysteries or confusing things in your life. Particularly given the holiday coming up if you have experienced or will experience or maybe even are experiencing interpersonal problems that you want resolved, be sure to step into our offices in town. It's literally impossible to miss us."
-B: "Looking for sailors to go on an exploratory mission around the barrier's edge by sea. Possible involvement of a king, ship provided. Need those willing to run a ship's maiden voyage on the sea out there. Report to SOS-Brigade HQ for more details."
-C: "Those of you who were signed up for Project Hydra Social - the Brigade's penpal initiative - please don't forget to write to your penpals. If you don't it defeats the purpose of the initiative, after all."
-D:"If anyone wants to get their hands on slot machines or pachinko machines, the SOS-Brigade currently has two of each that they are willing to sell. Payment can be in the forms of favors, interesting magical items - particularly ones which will allow people to breathe underwater - or assorted other neat things. Report of the SOS HQ if interested."
10. Creating a banner for morale/unity/etc.
-Devising some sort of flag or banner for village unity and something to rally behind.
11. Cultural Festival
-A cultural festival where stands can be set up offering food, drinks, games, or other things from each world. A nice way to learn about each other's worlds.
--Proposed for the spring, after school ends.
12. Evacuation measures
-Establishing hidden safehouses throughout the forests and mountains in case an evacuation is needed.
13. Notes from Brave Vesperia
-"As a reminder, Brave Vesperia is always available to take on any jobs that need completion. Jobs of all types are accepted, such as information gathering, searching for lost items, or construction. Our group is highly varied in skill and very flexible, so if it isn't shady or impossible, we'll get things done for you. Just put out a filter for Brave Vesperia or contact Yuri Lowell directly for any inquiries you may have."
14. Nonhuman awareness
-Bringing awareness to those who are nonhuman and making accommodations to help everyone out.
--Some suggested accommodations are providing a varied menu to suit all sorts of dietary needs as the restaurants and other food establishments.
--Creating clothing to fit a variety of body styles.
--Placing door handles lower down/making entrances more accessible to everyone.
15. Winter Wrap Up
-A festival to herald the coming of spring by cleaning up signs of winter.
--Shoveling away snow, planting crops and gardens, creating nests for returning birds are some of the things involved.
Thank you for your time. I think due to how productive this meeting was, I would like to propose making meetings a quarterly - one meeting during each season - or biannual thing. I think staying in touch and coming together more often to discuss any matters that might arise would be beneficial to us all.
((ooc; Links are not there ICly, it's mostly for reference if anyone wants to see the full post and any discussions that might have occurred. I'm sorry I couldn't tag everyone, life kinda ate me up and I couldn't keep up, but thank you to everyone who participated!
As there are still a few threads that are ongoing, if you want me to update the bulletpoints with an new information that came up, send me a message and I'll get things updated as quickly as possible. Also please feel free to point out any corrections that need to be made or things that should be added in. feel free to use this post for any further IC discussion, but also OOC as well.))
