[Locked Transmission to Residents]

Residents. This is Chief Petty Officer Daisy SPARTAN-023.

I am informing that on July 15th of the fifth registered cycle of the Luceti enclosure, we are getting close on cracking the code for the card key and the terminals found for the recently discovered installations in the tunnels. Now the decision lies on which door to open for our benefit.

The doors present in the new areas reached are the following:

- Archives
- Armory
- Call Center
- Classified
- Garage
- R&D
- Recreation
- Security
- Storage

Due to the risk of the card being good for one use only as a likely safety procedure used in the past for these installations, this choice will be held by democratic vote. We don't know what will be find in any of these doors, so choose wisely. While intel is always precious in this place... so is tech.

((OOC: This is a discussion post, use it for your characters to speak about the possibilities and the tunnels that could be used, and why.))

[ Normally he'd take the jab in stride, but today being as it is...it grates more than usual. ]

Plenty of faith, not enough patience. At this rate, it will take us the better part a year to open all these doors.

[All right. Toning down the jibes.]

Well like I told Daisy, if you want something you can get immediate use out of, there's two rooms that are most likely to have anything good in them. After that it's picking and choosing which ones might have good intel.

And those ones are more of a gamble. [ ... ] Why did they have to call it "classified", anyway? It's just asking to be opened. Begging, really.

[A groan.] Don't tell me you're drawn into it too.

Honestly, we can afford to be prudent. These doors were down here for a long time, and it's not a coincidence that we suddenly have access to all of this.

I tend to agree. If there was something down there they didn't want us to be able to access, they would have removed it long ago. I don't like the idea of risking using that card for something worthless like an empty cage.

Indeed. We need to consider the possibilities of each option and choose carefully. Should the card work more than once, it means we'll have other options lined up. Rushing in blindly just because it "sounds" like a gamble won't change things any quicker.

[For all they knew, whatever was in that 'classified' section could very well be what killed the person down there.]

Not a fan of risk, are you, Miss Sage?

[ The things that yield the highest reward were always the riskiest. ]

It all depends on the circumstances. The last risk brought Twila to the village - and we still don't know the real truth about that.

Where's your vote, then?

Currently, I feel that the archives may be our best option.

That also could have been one of the easiest rooms for them to have wiped clean, depending on how you want to interpret "archive".

[ It's not hard to imagine a room full of filing cabinets going up in smoke, given the technology level of the rest of the place. ]
wise_maiden: (and thunder shakes the walls)

[Voice]

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2013-07-17 12:14 pm (UTC)(link)
The room being "wiped clean" isn't my concern. "Classified" could refer to anything - generally concerning subjects they don't want us to know about. Or perhaps objects. At least with Archives, we know it pertains to information - for all we know, classified could hold another Twila situation, or even the third floor. We did find a skeleton down here, after all. That's not something to be taken lightly.

[ Tony wasn't eager for a repeat of Twila, but even less for a repeat of the Third Floor. ]

Got any leads on that yet?

There's a difference between risk and getting the job done correctly. Open whatever you please then. Perhaps you'll of gotten something through that thick skull of yours when there's nothing but a dusty chair inside. Use your brain, why would they risk something like that.

[Vegeta did you just tell Tony Stark to use his brain?]

You sure as hell better hope I'm not incorrect, considering I'm one of the minds leading this project. And assuming there's one right choice when there clearly isn't makes you look like a moron on top of an ass. Literally. Just thought you might want to know.
misterbrief: (you're lying)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-07-17 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I never said there was a singular door that would be correct. But putting any hope into thinking classified material would be left behind is unbelievable. You really take them for fools, don't you?

I'm not going to assume that the Malnosso didn't know about this little area nor had access to it. If we ccan find a way in, then so can they.

[Voice]

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-07-16 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I think the answer is much more simple. A door that's going to hold something they didn't find useful is going to more than likely be a better option for a choice. I don't trust that the Malnosso would leave behind important information, especially if they had time to move everything out and lock it up as tightly as it was.

But since the card did exist, I do believe there's something of value down there. More than likely weaponry. Something that if they needed to access it inside the barrier it would help against any attacks from the Third Party.

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2013-07-17 12:18 pm (UTC)(link)
All we know for certain is that that there's something down there that either they - or a group working apart from them, at this point - want us to get our hands on. This isn't the only village with a tunnel system, but it's always been implied that there's something different here.

Whatever the case may be, we need to be sure that our choices are for our benefit, and not one made in haste. If we are lucky, we'll be able to crack all the needed codes - but it does take a long time. That's why we need to be more sure of what we're getting into.
misterbrief: (Wallflowerin')

[Voice]

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-07-17 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I still don't see why they'd want us to get our hands on anything at all. [But he'll let it go- that's not worth arguing about.]

You're absolutely certain we're going to be able to access all the chambers over time? Because if that's the case it certainly seems to make a lot of these arguments invalid when they're just going to open everything anyway in the end.
wise_maiden: (through so many splintered trees)

[voice]

[personal profile] wise_maiden 2013-07-18 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
All I said was that if we're lucky, it will turn out that way, not that it was a certainty. However, it will take time to open each door, should it be the case - given it's taken us over a month to get one open - and in that case it's best to come up with a plan to go about it. Even better, to decide on some kind of an order, now, of priorities, instead of putting it to a vote every time. Although priorities can change...

Though there is always the chance that they really are that sadly pedantic.
