[Locked Transmission to Residents]

Residents. This is Chief Petty Officer Daisy SPARTAN-023.

I am informing that on July 15th of the fifth registered cycle of the Luceti enclosure, we are getting close on cracking the code for the card key and the terminals found for the recently discovered installations in the tunnels. Now the decision lies on which door to open for our benefit.

The doors present in the new areas reached are the following:

- Archives
- Armory
- Call Center
- Classified
- Garage
- R&D
- Recreation
- Security
- Storage

Due to the risk of the card being good for one use only as a likely safety procedure used in the past for these installations, this choice will be held by democratic vote. We don't know what will be find in any of these doors, so choose wisely. While intel is always precious in this place... so is tech.

((OOC: This is a discussion post, use it for your characters to speak about the possibilities and the tunnels that could be used, and why.))

[...oh. This guy.]

I'd be cool with a surveillance system. Hell maybe they don't need it, but we could get something like that running again and put it to our own use.

[Frankly he agrees with Wolverine, that the possibility he stated alone makes it worth it. That aside he expects there could be a variety of useful leftovers or intel in that room.]
misterbrief: (you're serious?)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-07-16 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[Great, it's the boy.]

And what exactly would you plan on doing with it? Keeping a watch for droid abductions? Need I remind you that the enemy is outside the barrier? Unless you've got some information you're not telling us.
endgames: (Bullet points)

[personal profile] endgames 2013-07-16 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe you should read up on some things. [Here he starts counting them off his fingers.] One, droids aren't the only ones who come into the barrier. There's scientists who have snuck in before with the intent to kill us, baskers for hunting fugitives down, and in the past altered the weather to flood us out.

Two, the Third Party have breached barriers in other enclosures with the intent of wiping out villages. This site was the focus of their attack years ago, and could be again.

With a good enough surveillance system, we could see these threats coming. Hours or minutes - any extra warning is extra time to prepare.
misterbrief: (This guy is really annoying)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-07-16 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
You better hope those cameras are aimed in the direction of those points then. Because it's either set up to spy on us or set up in the fashion you've described, or both. The problem is that you don't have a single clue as to how the Malnosso decided to watch us. [He's assuming they do. He doesn't have a reason to believe otherwise.]

If that card opens more than one door then maybe, maybe I'd say the security door would be worth opening. But there are far better options that have a higher chance of providing results than that.

[Even though at the end of the day, there might not be anything in any of the chambers. He'd thought of that too, and hoped that wasn't the case.]
endgames: (Considering)

[personal profile] endgames 2013-07-16 08:00 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not the Malnosso who were running this.

[Probably.]

The card will open all of the doors, given time. We can crack out one passcode a month, so that's not a problem unless we die in nine months.
breezing: (- that's STUPID.)

[personal profile] breezing 2013-07-16 08:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Which we're not going to do!

Right?

Also! D'you mean Luceti was here before the Malnosso picked it as a place to send us when we got pulled to this world? So it's like, a place they took over or something?
endgames: (Chill)

[personal profile] endgames 2013-07-16 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely not gonna die. [FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE CHILDREN. He grins.]

It was still an enclosure, but there were different people here before us. Have you ever seen that wall when we discovered the new tunnels back in October? There's a lot of messages from past residents, and some drawings kids made.
breezing: (= considering this.)

[personal profile] breezing 2013-07-16 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Ummm, I don't go down in the tunnels. I could ask someone to take me, I guess! I remember everyone talking about that, though. I just thought they were more people like us!
endgames: (Shrug)

[personal profile] endgames 2013-07-16 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
They were. But they were here a long time, and so learned and accomplished more. The things in the tunnels are what they left behind.
breezing: (+ talking cheerfully!)

[personal profile] breezing 2013-07-16 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I hope we don't leave anything behind. 'Cause we should definitely try to be the people who don't need to on account of figuring out a lot more and stuff.
endgames: (That so?)

[personal profile] endgames 2013-07-16 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Can't agree with you more, kiddo.

[He's not leaving here until he does.]
misterbrief: (dude srs)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-07-16 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't care who was running it. Besides, I can assure you we aren't going to die in the next nine months. I'll see to it personally. [Give him the chance, he's been wanting to blow up somebody something around here.] So then those doors will all open.

Hopefully we don't get anymore surprises like the last one, don't you think?

endgames: (Bluff)

[personal profile] endgames 2013-07-16 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[Is that a barb at him?]

That's why I'm advising against the armory.
misterbrief: (Default)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-07-16 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[Indirectly. More at the situation but there was definitely a jab at Shikamaru in there.]

I don't know. I've got a feeling they wouldn't leave behind any important information in case we'd find it but I can see them hiding something powerful to combat the enemy with. After all, look at the defense in this enclosure. I didn't see anyone as powerful as us on the last draft. We're the perfect defense for an invaluable weapon.

Something to consider.
endgames: (Processing)

[personal profile] endgames 2013-07-16 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, until the Malnosso or some other big shot gets word we have it. Then they swoop in during some experiment when we're distracted and take it for themselves.

I'm not interested in opening a door for someone else until I know what's in there, or what it might do.
misterbrief: (Where's Gohan? I know you're not him.)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-07-16 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
We're not going to find out unless we open it then. Isn't there a way to lock it again once we've opened it? What's stopping them from taking the card from us as easily as it was taken from them? They can easily use an experiment to reclaim whatever it is that they've lost from us. Unless we use whatever is down there first.
endgames: (your point?)

[personal profile] endgames 2013-07-16 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
There's plenty of ways to find out. All you gotta do is dig up an inventory - something like that you'd find in security.

[As for what's keeping them from taking the card, and what was "taken" from them, he doesn't see the need to repeat himself. This area was never used by Malnosso. There's nothing for them to take back, because it was never theirs.]
misterbrief: (So what.)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-07-16 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Given they bothered to keep that list updated. I'd rather see something with my own eyes and know it's there then go off of something that tells me what might be inside. And if it's valuable they're going to want it. That keycard came off a Malnosso agent- they know what's in there, don't be a fool. It would be stupid to assume they don't.
endgames: (Chuunin: fancy word for 'errand boy')

[personal profile] endgames 2013-07-16 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
It came off a digger, man. A janitor type, one who's been dead down there longer than Twila was caged in. If he had anything important to them, they would've come after it ten years ago.
misterbrief: (Default)

so his misinformation is totally me being retarded oops

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-07-16 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[His eyes narrow, but Shikamaru's got a point. They would have come long ago and switched the locks if that was the case. So he sighs and calms his voice.]

That's not what I wanted to hear. Anything not important for them to safeguard may or may not benefit us at all. [He's just being pessimistic.] I still can't imagine they wouldn't know what's inside, unless they truly never had access to the chambers to begin with. [If someone lowly like that had a card that means there was probably more cards.]

Has anyone bothered to find out why a common digger had a card that would have access to a classified section, armory, and otherwise places that he shouldn't be sticking his nose in? [It's an honest question.]
endgames: (Really)

It's all good!

[personal profile] endgames 2013-07-17 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
There's not even identification on him. [He checked.] Didn't find a journal on him either, though there's no saying it didn't fall farther than he did. My theory is everyone who used to live in this enclosure and worked on this project had one.
misterbrief: (not going to happen!)

:3

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-07-17 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
You better be right about this, kid. [Well, congratulations Shika, you just talked him down. It's a feat to do that. Bonus points are awarded.]

If you're certain the armory isn't a good place to start, then what else did you have in mind besides the security section? I'm not seeing a point to the information chambers myself, since I still think the Malnosso had access to this area long before we ever found it.
endgames: (Crossed)

[personal profile] endgames 2013-07-17 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
We found the passcode to open up the secret door to the tunnels in the first place in an archive room outside Luceti. Archives interest me for those reasons, whether you're keen on them or not.

[It might be what he votes for. Until he thought of something thinking on Daisy's insistence for the garage, he was sure it would be. But if he's right about that...]

If you're talking tangible things we could use immediately, though, I would suggest Storage or the Garage.
misterbrief: (Shaving sucks)

[personal profile] misterbrief 2013-07-17 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
If we're going to be opening up all the doors eventually, something tangible is going to be a lot more useful. And you never know.

Some of those tangible items may be integral to whatever information might be left behind. [But that gets him thinking.] I don't know what's better- having the pieces of the puzzle first or having the answer key before having access to the puzzle itself. If they even bothered to leave the answer key behind at all. [He doubts it.]
endgames: (Shrug)

[personal profile] endgames 2013-07-17 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
If you've never been down here, there's a wall of notes from the people who used to live here. Many of them are messages into the future - to us, the people who came after them.

One of these notes was to say that they left everything they learned in a certain place. This could be it. If it is, they probably did leave something for us.

[If someone didn't change their mind and remove everything, anyways.]
