[So he found the New Mission pop up on the books earlier today ~~the mod post said it would appear a week before hand so~~ and he looked at what it was... and the date... and the droid arm in his apartment...

He can't help but snicker. He considers using his book for this, but decides while it makes things less theatrical, it also probably serves the residents here better to have it not be 100% public. So during the time he'd normally be at the Dome, he instead crawls into the tunnels for-

Hey, hey! You all know Shikamaru-kun's birthday is coming up, riiiight? Riight? Oh, well, if you didn't, it is! And I actually planned something super special for his birthday a week from now, but it seems the Malnosso went and made the mission I'd so painfully chosen public! [And he sighs a lamentation] Alas, with my surprise no longer a surprise, I thought it best to simply deliver the gift early.

So happy early birthday, Shikamaru, my man! And for everyone else, please flip to the back of your journals [where missions are noted] To see what I'm on about! I'm sure you'll agree I really outdid myself!

[There's a three or so minute pause before this next part is typed]

But no seriously, this mission could have some importance to us. Anyone who would like to get some payback and planning on the droid situation ought to sign up for it. And talk about it here if you want.

I've heard it could've been some sort of shift in place. If we're sent to sabotage something that could last even the shifts...

They don't approve of the Rogue Faction. I still remember his reply... even he approved of our decision not to give them Catherine. Maybe they do want the better image.

It still amazes me that they'd let us know of them.

It's a big organization. There's no saying they're all in the know. With something this sensitive, I rather doubt it.

[She is baffled. It's amazing. Daisy had considered herself only lucky that she got a chance to study the droids back then, and she was awfully short in time.

That Shikamaru managed it as well makes her respect him a whole lot. Her case was luck. His was skill.]

I only got a brief look at them. I have footage I got to study later on, but nothing with a good amount of time. You had more?

[...ha. That almost sounds like an accusation. If it makes her feel better, he looks just as surprised to learn she'd already gotten the chance to study them.]

[He smiles, and shrugs nervously.]

Aa... almost two years ago, on Halloween, the village was attacked. A group went into the tunnels and defeated the droids there. I'd followed them. Afterwards I got to study the dismantled pieces.

It wasn't for long - they were fetched for cleanup of course - but... [Here he taps his temple, a little more seriously.] I remember.

[His memory is eidetic.]

[The Chief pauses to think. It was before she arrived. It would make sense that something like this would be hidden. She kept what she learned from the incident with Trafalgar Law secret for the most part.

She knows now the cost of secrets. But now there is a chance to redeem herself for it.]

Beside the documents of time ago related to my trip to the desert... There was a time in which the droids failed to capture someone.

... I was there in the aftermath. Before they tried again. I recorded it.

[Memory would be valuable. Far too valuable. She confesses it with guilt. This was the time to let go of her intel.]

[He knows who she's talking about too. Law. He'd come to help, too little too late.]

[The Spartan wastes no time. She moves downstairs and back to her quarters to bring out her armor and begin to analyze her old files.

By the time Shikamaru finds her room, he would find the Chief Petty Officer with her helmet on her head, and several cables connected to the armor resting in front of her. There are several notes around her.

She turns to see him.]
