[So he found the New Mission pop up on the books earlier today ~~the mod post said it would appear a week before hand so~~ and he looked at what it was... and the date... and the droid arm in his apartment...

He can't help but snicker. He considers using his book for this, but decides while it makes things less theatrical, it also probably serves the residents here better to have it not be 100% public. So during the time he'd normally be at the Dome, he instead crawls into the tunnels for-

Hey, hey! You all know Shikamaru-kun's birthday is coming up, riiiight? Riight? Oh, well, if you didn't, it is! And I actually planned something super special for his birthday a week from now, but it seems the Malnosso went and made the mission I'd so painfully chosen public! [And he sighs a lamentation] Alas, with my surprise no longer a surprise, I thought it best to simply deliver the gift early.

So happy early birthday, Shikamaru, my man! And for everyone else, please flip to the back of your journals [where missions are noted] To see what I'm on about! I'm sure you'll agree I really outdid myself!

[There's a three or so minute pause before this next part is typed]

But no seriously, this mission could have some importance to us. Anyone who would like to get some payback and planning on the droid situation ought to sign up for it. And talk about it here if you want.

Payback or not, Masaomi's right. This is a tremendous opportunity. If we can hinder the droids, we can hinder the kidnappings that happen in this enclosure and anywhere else. Even if it's only for a while, it would be worth it.

Anyone who's research the droids by any amount should consider this. And maybe we should talk too.

You already know I'm in, Shiko. This has me written all over it. In big, shiny, light-up letters.

It'll be a disappointment if neither of us are signed up for it. We have a leg up on the competition, so to speak.

[And without saying what that is, you can probably figure out what he's getting at, in wanting to reel in some other scientists and programmers.]

We do. It almost seems too convenient. Or they really have no idea what we've been up to.

I might patch a private message through to Dr. Banner. He's no me, obviously, but he knows his way around robotics well enough.

Yeah, he wouldn't be bad for it. [Ho hum.] The difficult part is even knowing who they might pick for the job. But it doesn't hurt to try.

We'd better do something pointless like cross our fingers, then. Because I sure as hell would be disappointed if we had to sit this one out. And that's putting it lightly.

It's been a while since I've researched them, myself, but if we can use this opportunity, we should take advantage of it.

We'd have to be deaf, blind, and dumb to get zero from the mission, honestly.

Fair enough. I think I'll sign up for it as well. Working with technology should be far easier than pretending I'm Lloyd for a play.

I've had experience with advanced technology at home. [And even if she isn't familiar with it, she is a fast learner.] I've also shut down a few of their shift machines before.

[She is interested. Right now, one of the people the familiar girl comes to seek is Shikamaru.

The Spartan moves around the community buildings and houses to seek for familiar companions. She knew of the locked network, but the fact this mission would gather the ones most interested in stopping the droids...

Daisy hopes she is just too paranoid for her own good.]

[Well she's in luck! Rooftop jumping is just the way to do things when you're a ninja, so rather than taking some obscure path home, Shikamaru heads in the direction of CH1 over the tops of the buildings and the occasional nearby tree.]

[Daisy spots the glint of a ninja heading to the first community housing. She walks inside, once again looking for Shikamaru.

Through the hallways, she calmly mutters.]

Kida said you'd get a birthday party.

[His voice will echo from further up the stairwell, even if he himself is out of sight.]

It's troublesome when one has to go to the lengths of a deep cover mission to get out of it.

That is more exhausting. But I would take it, too.

[She walks up, guessing Shikamaru's location, not entirely surprised by his wishes of privacy.

Sadly, getting on the mission means she won't be able to get on a date. But it would be a massive victory for the residents if they succeeded.]

[He chuckles. A landing above her, along the ceiling, he uncurls himself from his hiding place and pokes his head into view.]

Are you? For this mission, that is.

I signed up.

[She calmly watches him reveal himself. It reminds her a little how would her group often evade Tango company's patrols when they infiltrated buildings.]

I remember reading somewhere that the facilities were destroyed in the past. But that they still operated. Maybe this is what we need to do.

The ones I went to sure seemed active... [Mutter mutter. Even the one with the flesh creature. It couldn't have been like that long.]
